I'm not really sure how to review this. Food was amazing. Downside is when we first went in my son ate a pack of sugar and the waitress came and took the entire dispenser away. Some people have low blood sugar and other medical conditions and can't always wait for the food. I found that quite appalling actually to the point we almost left. I've never seen that ever happen and can't even express it. I asked another waitress about it and she didn't have much of a reason other than she would bring it back if we wanted. Thankfully this waitress continued serving us because we weren't too happy with the other one.

Visited on my way to Vanderhoof and went solely based on previous reviews, and I must say I really enjoyed it! Great food, nice environment and friendly staff! Definitely recommend!

My colleague had the pulled pork and same pepper soup, who commented the pork was salty, but I tried it and it was very delicious, not too salty for me, and I'm not a salt fan, but I do like spice.

Great food, pricing is reasonable, and they do have specials.. Get here early or they may run out of the daily special! I didn't get a chance to try it, but I will be back!

I asked about the Christmas tree in the middle and there was a very interesting story behind what is in the box below it! Make sure to ask about it when you visit!

The restaurant is relaxed, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall I give this restaurant 4.1 out of 5 stars, seating area as well as pricing and service included. 5 out of 5 stars on the taste of the meal. The food was hot and delicious. I got the red pepper soup and it was definitely a great choice, it wasn't too spicy and had a lot of flavor. The steak sandwich was done exactly the way I like it at medium rare, and it was a nice steak, tender and easy to eat. The garlic bread which steak was layed upon was fresh bread and a mild garlic which complimented the steak. Very delicious meal!

On my way home to Alaska and stopped for dinner here (looked up on Internet). The restaurant is several blocks off the main highway, which is a shame because many travelers will drive right by and never know what they missed. The building is pretty basic, as is the dining area. That said, the dining area was very clean, you could tell wait staff had high standards and took pride in their work. No unbused tables here! The food runs from basic fare to NY steak (which is what I ordered). My first clue that this was not your average place was that the cooks all wore chefs jackets. When my meal arrived its presentation rivaled that of any fine restaurant I've dined in. Every bit of the meal was hot and well prepared. The steak, potatoes, and vegetables were all prepared to perfection. I saw many people there from retired folks to young families with babies. It was a very comfortable place. This restaurant had a unique blend of informal and high end. I never do reviews, but a hefty tip was simply not enough recognition for this excellent restaurant.

Overall restaurant and bathrooms were clean and food was cooked well and warm. Second waitress did a fine job. Could have went without the first reaching over the table and grabbing the sugar packets away. A few pennies in sugar cost us a food experience. We went in because of the good reviews. We are not local and we're travelling from a month long road trip. If I could I would give 3.5 stars but that's not an option. Food was easily 4.5

For being a family place we didn't feel overly welcomed when they take condiments away that is in every table and up charge for a cheese burger. I get making it cost a bit more but $1 is a bit much.

Kids menu was odd. Not sure what it states root beer wasn't an included option in the price. See picture for how it reads. ? Don't have root beer or root beer has caffeine and they are trying to parent for parents? Also $1. Up charge to add cheese to burger was odd.
